Testimonials

“Although I considered myself to be in good condition for my age before I joined, I’ve managed to become stronger and more supple. Joining the gym is the best thing I have done in years.”
Duncan, 87

“Joining Think Fitness helped me transform my body shape, my lifestyle, and my confidence, in a matter of months. I find the place to be a really motivational environment as the staff are always extremely positive about my personal progress, and it’s also a great place to meet new people.”
Graham, 36

“I was unhappy with my fitness when I first started, but the facilities and approachable staff have helped me change my body shape.”
Tracy, 31

“Although I wasn’t overweight when I joined, i wasn’t happy with my figure and felt unfit. After following my programme for a couple of months and attending some of the classes, I actually managed to lose quite a bit of weight as well as toning up a lot. I now feel great and can do more than ever.”
Zoe, 30

I have been a member for two years and I can see a big difference. I've lost two stones, I feel ten years younger, and I have lots more energy. My advice is to fit three training sessions into your regular week and you will feel the benefits. Just take it one step at a time. If I can do it, anyone can do it.
Gary, 44

“Being four-and-a-half stone lighter as well as having a significantly higher level of fitness has made me feel so much better about myself. My fitness programme has allowed me to keep track of my improvements, and as well as the gym I sometimes go to the classes for a change. If you’re thinking about joining, get yourself along, because trust me, you’ll never look back.”
Gail, 29

“Following a regular exercise programme in the gym has helped me become more toned and it has given me a lot more energy.”
Ellen, 43

“Before joining I was overweight with a bad diet. Thanks to the facilities and staff I have completely changed. I have lost five stones, I eat healthily, and I work out regularly as there is always a new challenge to keep me interested and motivated.”
Simon, 37

"In just 12 weeks, I managed to shed almost a stone-and-a-half, lose over a fifth of my body fat, and change my body shape. As a result I feel as fit as I possibly ever have, and I have actually surprised myself. After the initial tough first few weeks, you soon find things easier and you get a buzz from working out and from the progress you are making. Variation helps and I combined two Spinning classes per week with regular gym visits on top of other activities outside of the gym. If you really WANT to do it, you WILL make the time, you WILL achieve, and you WILL see and feel the difference. If you can't make the time, then you're just kidding yourself on... I should know... I did it for years!"
Stuart, 33

“Although I was reasonably fit when I started, within a matter of weeks and with a bit of help from the staff I felt a lot fitter.”
Billy, 51

“The hardest thing you will do is walk through the door for the first time. Once you have achieved that the rest is easy. My fitness had nose-dived after a back injury when I started and from struggling to last 30 minutes I now work out for two hours at a time. I’ve also manages to stop smoking, and as the gym has plenty of equipment, you’re guaranteed a varied workout no matter what your goal are. The staff are great and always willing to give advice – all you have to do is ask!”
David, 44

"As a regular gym user (3-4 times per week), I was struggling to lose lose my festive weight gain, but in the space of four weeks with the introduction of using the Vibrostation three times a week combined with my gym visits, I am now seeing visible results. The Vibrostation has given me the tone, definition, and results I have previously struggled to achieve, all in such a short space of time, whilst reducing my actual time in the gym. I will definately be continuing to exercise with the Vibrostation, and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending it to anyone."

Introducing the 'FACES' of 2010

Ben

Popular ex-cornet Ben Graham is looking to shed some pounds after his final stint as part of the ‘big four’ at this year’s Common Riding. Unsurprisingly the majority of Ben’s current exercise regime consists of riding horses, and his overall diet is pretty good apart from his revelation that his tea comes from ‘oot the freezer’. He cites girlfriend and fellow ‘face’ Megan as his idea of the ideal body! Sponsored by Bannerman Burke

Dot

Wife of fellow ‘face’ Rocky, Dot Johnstone cites competing with Rocky as her motivation for taking part in the competition, so we can maybe expect some fireworks there. Dot is already very much a regular in the gym already, be she’s looking to push on even further and have some fun at the bargain. She admits she eats ‘lots’ in a typical day, and thinks Cheryl Cole has the ideal body, a thought surely shared by husband Rocky too. Sponsored by Jim Hay Estate Agents

Fraser - EVICTED!

Hawick High School Head Boy and Vertish Junior Captain Fraser Hartop is relishing the different challenges that lay ahead. He’s also looking forward to improving his fitness and making new friends during the competition. He balances his diet by eating a lot of fruit and veg to compensate for the chocolate he eats, and names fellow ‘face’ Rocky as his idea of the ideal body. Sponsored by Hawick Knitwear

Gloria - EVICTED!

2008 Cornet’s Lass Megan Gracie has opted to call herself ‘Gloria’ for the competition after the Hippo in the Disney film Madagascar! Her motivation for taking part is to become more positive about her ability to exercise, get fitter, and lose some ‘chub’! She enjoys horse riding and walking to the fridge, but says she doesn’t snack she just eats three mammoth meals a day. Her ideal body is Pink or Shakira, or if all else fails it would be Bubbles DeVere from Little Britain! Sponsored by JRW Group

Jamie Ginger - WINNER!

It’s been seven years and finally Jamie Scott becomes the first ginger to appear in the competition. The outgoing Common Riding enthusiast and Linden player is out to win and agreed to take part on the recommendation of several former ‘faces’, who told him to go for it. He admits to be even more ‘Weel-Kent’ in Hawick’s numerous take-aways and pinpoints Ronald McDonald as his ideal body. Sponsored by S&G Anderson Fencing, Decking & Drystone Dyking

Kev

Popular hairdresser Kevin Sykes from Define Hair Studio in the Howegate is another out to win as well as improve his fitness, and get to know his fellow competitors better. Kev enjoys running, walking and horse riding, he has a good diet, and even drinks Slimline Tonic with his Gin! His idea of the ideal body is Real Madrid and Portugal footballer Cristiano Ronaldo, not to be confused with the fat Brazilian Ronaldo! Sponsored by Eden / Eden For Men

Motor Mooth - EVICTED!

Rugby player, Linden tea lady and nurse Moira Black is another example of a ‘face’ that enters the competition in good shape due to her love of jogging and yoga. Her choice of competition name demonstrates she is up for a laugh, and she is sure to be one to watch. She is another who has a decent diet, and even enjoys green tea as one of her favourite drinks. Tomb Raider adventurer Lara Croft is her idea of the ideal body. Sponsored by Weensland Motor Centre

Rocky - EVICTED!

Hawick RFC Academy Coach John Johnstone swapping giving out training programmes for receiving one from the Think Fitness instructors. Former competition winner Bobby Froud persuaded Rocky to take part, and he is looking forward to enjoying a different range of sports and activities away from rugby. Another ‘face’ who has a good diet, his choice for the ideal body is Jean-Claude Van Damme when he was in his prime. Sponsored by Hawick RFC

Sandi

Owner of several shops, Businesswoman Sandi Spence says it was a moment of madness that led to her agreeing to take part in this year’s competition. She’s hoping it will give her a healthier attitude to life, which would probably do her good after she admits to having Haribo for tea as well as indulging in a cake in a typical day. Former football hard man and actor Vinnie Jones is her idea of the ideal body. Sponsored by Define Hair Studio

Shauni

Hawick High School Head Girl Shauni Noble is looking forward to a new experience and having fun in the competition, and she wants to move on from her current exercise of walking and improve her fitness further. She is another who enjoys a decent diet and cites cranberry juice as her favourite tipple, neglecting to admit if it is vodka or gin she enjoys in it! Megan Fox is her idea of the ideal body.
