Testimonials

"In just 12 weeks, I managed to shed almost a stone-and-a-half, lose over a fifth of my body fat, and change my body shape. As a result I feel as fit as I possibly ever have, and I have actually surprised myself. After the initial tough first few weeks, you soon find things easier and you get a buzz from working out and from the progress you are making. Variation helps and I combined two Spinning classes per week with regular gym visits on top of other activities outside of the gym. If you really WANT to do it, you WILL make the time, you WILL achieve, and you WILL see and feel the difference. If you can't make the time, then you're just kidding yourself on... I should know... I did it for years!"
Stuart, 33

“Before joining I was overweight with a bad diet. Thanks to the facilities and staff I have completely changed. I have lost five stones, I eat healthily, and I work out regularly as there is always a new challenge to keep me interested and motivated.”
Simon, 37

“Although I considered myself to be in good condition for my age before I joined, I’ve managed to become stronger and more supple. Joining the gym is the best thing I have done in years.”
Duncan, 87

I have been a member for two years and I can see a big difference. I've lost two stones, I feel ten years younger, and I have lots more energy. My advice is to fit three training sessions into your regular week and you will feel the benefits. Just take it one step at a time. If I can do it, anyone can do it.
Gary, 44

“Being four-and-a-half stone lighter as well as having a significantly higher level of fitness has made me feel so much better about myself. My fitness programme has allowed me to keep track of my improvements, and as well as the gym I sometimes go to the classes for a change. If you’re thinking about joining, get yourself along, because trust me, you’ll never look back.”
Gail, 29

“Although I wasn’t overweight when I joined, i wasn’t happy with my figure and felt unfit. After following my programme for a couple of months and attending some of the classes, I actually managed to lose quite a bit of weight as well as toning up a lot. I now feel great and can do more than ever.”
Zoe, 30

“Following a regular exercise programme in the gym has helped me become more toned and it has given me a lot more energy.”
Ellen, 43

"As a regular gym user (3-4 times per week), I was struggling to lose lose my festive weight gain, but in the space of four weeks with the introduction of using the Vibrostation three times a week combined with my gym visits, I am now seeing visible results. The Vibrostation has given me the tone, definition, and results I have previously struggled to achieve, all in such a short space of time, whilst reducing my actual time in the gym. I will definately be continuing to exercise with the Vibrostation, and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending it to anyone."
Jane, 57

“Joining Think Fitness helped me transform my body shape, my lifestyle, and my confidence, in a matter of months. I find the place to be a really motivational environment as the staff are always extremely positive about my personal progress, and it’s also a great place to meet new people.”
Graham, 36

“Although I was reasonably fit when I started, within a matter of weeks and with a bit of help from the staff I felt a lot fitter.”
Billy, 51

“The hardest thing you will do is walk through the door for the first time. Once you have achieved that the rest is easy. My fitness had nose-dived after a back injury when I started and from struggling to last 30 minutes I now work out for two hours at a time. I’ve also manages to stop smoking, and as the gym has plenty of equipment, you’re guaranteed a varied workout no matter what your goal are. The staff are great and always willing to give advice – all you have to do is ask!”
David, 44

“I was unhappy with my fitness when I first started, but the facilities and approachable staff have helped me change my body shape.”

Weel-Kent Face 2004

The popularity of the first ever 'Weel-Kent Face' competition took us by surprise, as we never imagined it would be such a popular competition format, and turn into what is now an established event in the Hawick calender. David 'Chappy' Chapman of Scocha fame (amongst other things) won the 2004 competition to go into the history books as the original 'Weel-Kent Face'.

Winner - Chappy

Winner Chappy does his best David Bellamy impression during the Orienteering task. Years later Chappy continues to train at Think Fitness, and is happy to admit taking part in the competition got him back into living a healthier lifestyle.

Ann

Home Economics teacher Ann takes a break from exercising her jaws! A competition legend and friend of Think Fitness, Auntie Ann is an unsung heroine in the community, and regularly looks after the boys at Think Fitness by feeding them with home-baking then taking them canoeing round St Mary's Loch to burn off the calories they have consumed!

Deb

Beauty Therapist and local Opera star Deb goes into bat during the Softball task, which was the first ever Weel-Kent Face task.

Dodger

Dodger stands in front of a dramatic backdrop on Ruberslaw at the end of the very first Mountain Rescue task, a task which has featured every year in the competition and is widely regarded as the highlight of the tasks. We are indebted to Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue for the time they give up and the resources they use every year to put this task on. Former cornet Dodger meanwhile still trains at Think Fitness, recently completing the Chris Hoy half-marathon in a very very impressive time.

Jimbo

Rugby legend Jim Renwick on his way to the Ruberslaw summit during the Mountain Rescue task. Another Think Fitness regular, who used the competition as a springboard to getting back into shape. When not in the gym, Jimbo can be found hustling all-comers on golf courses throughout Scotland and beyond.

Julie

Bowler Julie Forrest at the Archery task, another very popular task, and one of only a few that has featured every year. Gwyn Jones and family at Eastcote Archery Centre never fail to put on a great task every year, whilst Julie is back with a bang on the Bowls circuit.

Kenny

Former international rugby referee Kenny gives Julie a helping hand during the Swiss Ball task en route to being the first ever 'face' to be evicted from the 'Weel-Kent Face' competition.

Madge

Madge still holds the record for being the oldest ever 'face' to compete in the competition, and that certainly didn't stop her from being one of the most game 'faces' ever.

Mary Doll

Former Councillor Mary Beck lines up during the Putting task. Mary Doll now has a business on across the road from Think Fitness, Made By Mary.

Smailie

Newsagent and Y.M. enthusiast Smailie shows how it's done during the Circuit task. Smailie has recently expanded his newsagent business by opening the bigger and better Keystore Express on Hawick High Street.
