Testimonials

“Before joining I was overweight with a bad diet. Thanks to the facilities and staff I have completely changed. I have lost five stones, I eat healthily, and I work out regularly as there is always a new challenge to keep me interested and motivated.”
Simon, 37

“Although I considered myself to be in good condition for my age before I joined, I’ve managed to become stronger and more supple. Joining the gym is the best thing I have done in years.”
Duncan, 87

"In just 12 weeks, I managed to shed almost a stone-and-a-half, lose over a fifth of my body fat, and change my body shape. As a result I feel as fit as I possibly ever have, and I have actually surprised myself. After the initial tough first few weeks, you soon find things easier and you get a buzz from working out and from the progress you are making. Variation helps and I combined two Spinning classes per week with regular gym visits on top of other activities outside of the gym. If you really WANT to do it, you WILL make the time, you WILL achieve, and you WILL see and feel the difference. If you can't make the time, then you're just kidding yourself on... I should know... I did it for years!"
Stuart, 33

“Although I was reasonably fit when I started, within a matter of weeks and with a bit of help from the staff I felt a lot fitter.”
Billy, 51

“Being four-and-a-half stone lighter as well as having a significantly higher level of fitness has made me feel so much better about myself. My fitness programme has allowed me to keep track of my improvements, and as well as the gym I sometimes go to the classes for a change. If you’re thinking about joining, get yourself along, because trust me, you’ll never look back.”
Gail, 29

“Following a regular exercise programme in the gym has helped me become more toned and it has given me a lot more energy.”
Ellen, 43

“Joining Think Fitness helped me transform my body shape, my lifestyle, and my confidence, in a matter of months. I find the place to be a really motivational environment as the staff are always extremely positive about my personal progress, and it’s also a great place to meet new people.”
Graham, 36

"As a regular gym user (3-4 times per week), I was struggling to lose lose my festive weight gain, but in the space of four weeks with the introduction of using the Vibrostation three times a week combined with my gym visits, I am now seeing visible results. The Vibrostation has given me the tone, definition, and results I have previously struggled to achieve, all in such a short space of time, whilst reducing my actual time in the gym. I will definately be continuing to exercise with the Vibrostation, and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending it to anyone."
Jane, 57

“I was unhappy with my fitness when I first started, but the facilities and approachable staff have helped me change my body shape.”
Tracy, 31

“The hardest thing you will do is walk through the door for the first time. Once you have achieved that the rest is easy. My fitness had nose-dived after a back injury when I started and from struggling to last 30 minutes I now work out for two hours at a time. I’ve also manages to stop smoking, and as the gym has plenty of equipment, you’re guaranteed a varied workout no matter what your goal are. The staff are great and always willing to give advice – all you have to do is ask!”
David, 44

“Although I wasn’t overweight when I joined, i wasn’t happy with my figure and felt unfit. After following my programme for a couple of months and attending some of the classes, I actually managed to lose quite a bit of weight as well as toning up a lot. I now feel great and can do more than ever.”
Zoe, 30

I have been a member for two years and I can see a big difference. I've lost two stones, I feel ten years younger, and I have lots more energy. My advice is to fit three training sessions into your regular week and you will feel the benefits. Just take it one step at a time. If I can do it, anyone can do it.

"Am A Weel-Kent Face; Get Iz Oot O' Here!"

Back in 2004, Hawick Summer Festival committee members Nadia Cranston and Sandra Paxton approached Think Fitness asking them to organise a sports related competition day for local teams as part of the festival. After a bit of thought, ideas started to run wild, and before long a fitness-related eight-week rollercoaster ride of a competition was born, combining elements of popular TV programmes Big Brother and I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.

Soon after being advised of the format by Think Fitness, Nadia and Sandra had enlisted ten unwitting 'Weel-Kent' volunteers to be the very first 'faces', the Hawick News agreed to provide weekly coverage, Think Fitness organised the format and tasks, and the competition kicked off. Nobody knew quite what to expect, or could anyone have imagined how popular the competition would prove to become.

For anyone unfamiliar with the competition, every year Hawick Summer Festival committee get together with Think Fitness and identify possible candidates to be 'Weel-Kent Faces', five men and five women. Once they agree / are persuaded / are coersed / are forced to take part, each 'face' undertakes a gym induction and health check and are given a training programme. Points are awarded for attending the gym, and extra points are awarded for attending tasks, with extra points on offer for those good enough or lucky enough to win the tasks.

The public get to vote to keep their favourite 'face' in the competition, and at certain stages, the 'face' with the least votes is evicted. The person with the most votes and points at the end of the competition is crowned 'Weel-Kent Face' winner, and they are presented with a trophy courtesy of La Gems Jewellers, as well as a year's full membership for Think Fitness. Subsequent honours that follow as a result of winning the 'Weel-Kent' crown range from judging jam at farm shows to presenting certificates at primary school prizegiving evenings, very much the champagne-lifestyle!

2010 marks the year of the seventh 'Weel-Kent Face' competition, a competition which seems to become more and more popular year after year.
